Cybersecurity Awareness Month Week 1: Phishing and Social Engineering
The most sophisticated cybercriminals don't always break in—sometimes they talk their way in.
Social engineering attacks rely on human interaction rather than technology alone. Cybercriminals may impersonate someone you know, create a sense of urgency, or send a message that looks legitimate to convince you to click a malicious link, reveal sensitive information, provide your credentials, or take an action you normally wouldn't.
Today's phishing messages are becoming harder to recognize. A suspicious email may not contain obvious spelling mistakes or strange formatting. That's why it's important to slow down and look for warning signs. Cyber threats often hide in plain sight. Your best defense is to stay alert and look closely!
