What’s new in Outlook for Windows

Dear Howard University Community,

We’re excited to share upcoming enhancements to the new Outlook for Windows, designed to improve productivity, organization, and user experience across campus. Here is what you can expect:

  • Online Archive for Shared Mailboxes - You can now access the Online Archive for shared mailboxes directly within the new Outlook. Simply navigate to your mailbox folder list and locate the Online Archive folder for seamless access to archived communications.
  • Enhanced Search Folders - The Search Folder configuration has been moved to Settings, making it easier to manage. New Search Folder types are now available, along with the ability to scope searches to specific folders, helping you to quickly find exactly what you need.
  • Improved Navigation Experience - Outlook will now remember your place when switching between folders. Your selected message and scroll position are preserved — no more starting over at the top of your inbox.
  • Updated Signature Settings - The Accounts > Signatures page has been redesigned with enhanced functionality, giving you more flexibility to create, edit, and manage email signatures across multiple accounts.

The new Outlook features are expected to be available on March 24, 2026. Be sure to stay tuned for upcoming training sessions to support a smooth transition.
