Self Service Password Reset
Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Microsoft delivered feature that allows an enrolled user the ability to reset their own password. As a prerequisite for using the tool, you must register your notification and contact preferences. This is a one‐time process. Once you have registered your information, you will be able to use the self‐service resource tool.
Reset Your Password via Web
- Open your web browser on your device and go to the Self-Service Password Reset page http://passwordreset.howard.edu.
- When prompted, enter your Howard Email Address and the Characters in the Picture.
- Select either contact method below for verification method and follow the instructions:
Email my alternate email
- Check your “Alternate email”
- Enter “Verification Code”
- Click “Next”
Text my mobile phone
- Enter your “Registered Phone Number”
- Click “Text”
- Enter “Verification Code”
- Click “Next”
Answer my security questions
- Answer all 3 of your “Security Questions”
- Click “Next”
- Enter and confirm your new password.
- Click “Finish”
Change Your Password
- Open your web browser on your device and go to the password reset registration page https://myprofile.microsoft.com).
- When prompted, enter your Howard Email Address and Password.
- If you have MFA enabled, you will need follow the authentication method that you have chosen previously.
- Under the Password Click Change Password
- Enter your “Old Password”
- Enter and confirm your “New password”
- Click “Submit”
