This period often sees an increase in cyber threats, making it crucial for students, faculty, and staff to be aware and take proactive measures. Ensuring you know how to report any suspicious activity or potential security incidents can significantly reduce the impact of a cyber-attack.
Here are a few tips to help you stay safe online during this festive time:
- Beware of Phishing Scams - Be cautious of unsolicited emails, messages, or links, especially those promising deals or asking for personal information. Verify the sender before clicking on any links.
- Use Strong, Unique Passwords - Ensure your passwords are strong and unique for each account. Consider using a password manager to keep track of them.
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) - Add an extra layer of security to your accounts by enabling 2FA. This makes it harder for cybercriminals to gain access.
