Microsoft 365 Migration – Project Update

As previously announced, the university will implement Microsoft 365 for students (except graduating seniors), specifically OneDrive for file storage and Outlook for email, for this upcoming school year during the Summer of 2024. 
 
We have concluded the testing pilot activities and the stakeholder interviews as part of the project activities. Thank you to those who have taken the time to participate and provide feedback on these two critical milestones.

Dear Howard Students,  As previously announced, Howard University is transitioning from Google Suite to Microsoft 365 during the summer of 2024!   All current, active Howard students, regardless of level, are in scope. New incoming students will already have Microsoft 365 access. This excludes graduating seniors and Alumni.

Quarantine Email Release

We would like to inform you that ETS will activate the self-release feature of quarantined messages in Outlook. Essentially, you will be able to release safe, expected messages that may have been quarantined. What is quarantine, and why is it important? As part of our efforts to continuously protect the Howard community from digital harm, incoming emails are quarantined if Office 365 is unsure if the message is safe. This feature is an automated security measure designed to shield Howard University from suspicious emails that may be a potential security risk.

Dear Howard University Community, As part of our effort to continually improve the user experience of our campus stakeholders, Howard University will transition from Google G-Suite to Microsoft Office 365 during Summer 2024. This will positively impact the Howard University community as the migration brings key benefits to improve students’ daily academic activities:
